Lash Extension FAQ

What are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions are synthetic lashes applied to your natural lashes using a special adhesive. Each extension is placed onto a single natural lash to create a fuller, longer look.

What’s in the Lash Cleansing Kit?

  • Prolong Lash Extension Foam Cleanser (2.2oz): Removes makeup, debris, and dead skin, helping your extensions last longer. Travel-friendly and easy to use!
You will receive a complimentary cleanser on your very first appointment! If you bring back the bottle, it will be $18 for a refill, or $20 for a new lash cleansing bottle.

  • Disposable Cleansing Applicator: To help buff in the lash bath onto your eyelid! You can use a clean soft bristle eyeshadow brush as well.

  • Lash Spoolie: To keep your lashes neat and separated.

How to Use the Lash Cleanser:

  1. Pump two squirts of foam onto each eye and let it sit for 20 seconds.

  2. Use the brush to remove makeup or debris.

  3. Rinse with water and continue your skincare routine! That’s it!

How Long Do Lash Extensions Take?

  • Full Set: 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the style. Volume lashes may take a bit longer due to the extra detail.

  • Fill: About 45 minutes to 1 hour, including removal of grown-out extensions and cleaning your lashes for a fresh set.

What Materials Do You Use?

I use vegan and cruelty-free synthetic mink lashes. These mimic the soft, feathery texture of real mink but without the ethical issues. They’re lightweight and comfortable!

How Long Do Lash Extensions Last?

Extensions typically last 4-6 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth. With proper care (avoiding rubbing), they can last even longer.

Lash lifts last about 6-8 weeks before the curl starts to fade.

How Often Should I Come for a Fill?

I recommend fills every 2-3 weeks to maintain your look. Fills are more affordable than a full set, and they help keep your lashes looking fresh!

Who’s a Good Fit for GentlyLashed?

GentlyLashed is perfect for anyone—especially busy people like moms, nurses, teachers, or anyone who’s always on the go!

How to Prepare for Your Appointment:

  • Come without eye makeup.

  • Remove contacts before your appointment. (not enforced, but recommended) - do bring your own lens contact case and solution!

What Should I Avoid with Lash Extensions?

  • Oil cleansers (they can affect retention).

  • Rubbing your eyes.

  • Sleeping face down on your pillow.

  • Removing extensions yourself—let your lash artist do it! You can book a removal for a fresh new set.

Top 5 Tips for First-Time Clients:

  1. Do your research: Look at different styles and check your lash artist’s portfolio. Send your inspo pictures to me!

  2. Brush your lashes regularly to keep them neat.

  3. Don’t touch your lashes—natural shedding is normal.
