The Ultimate Guide to Lash Fills: What to Expect, How Often to Schedule, and When to Get a New Set

What is a lash fill?

A lash fill, also known as a lash refill, infill, or touch-up, is a maintenance appointment that involves removing and replacing old eyelash extensions with new ones to make your lashes look full and fresh.. During a lash fill, your lash stylist will:

  • Remove grown out lash extensions: Use a gentle adhesive remover to remove extensions that have grown out or manually remove the lash extension off of your natural lash.

  • Deep clean your lashes: Use a foaming cleanser and micro-swabs to clean lashes and remove makeup or debris.

  • Apply new extensions: Apply new extensions to fill in gaps caused by natural shedding.

During a fill, you can customize your look even further during your fill after your initial full set. If you want even more volume, you can ask your stylist if it’s possible to add extra lashes. If you’d like more length, you can also ask for that as well, vice versa.

Lash fills are typically recommended every two to three weeks. This is because people lose about 20% of their natural lashes every two weeks, and the extensions go with them. Getting regular lash fills helps keep lashes looking full and fresh.

Hope that helps! :)
